The Twilight at Taronga Summer Concert Series has been celebrated throughout its 30-year history as a Sydney summer tradition, and it returns on Friday February 5 for five weekends of world-class live music at Taronga Zoo Sydney.
One of Sydney’s longest-running outdoor all-ages concert series, few experiences rival Twilight at Taronga with its unmatched Sydney Harbour location and ongoing commitment to wildlife conservation.
Proceeds from ticket sales will continue to support Taronga’s new Wildlife Hospitals in Dubbo and Sydney, Australia’s first specialist wildlife teaching hospitals, helping train the next generation of wildlife veterinarians, nurses, carers and students while safeguarding native species into the future.
Starting the series on Friday February 5 is Northern Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance, with one of New Zealand’s most acclaimed singer-songwriters Bic Runga opening the show for one very special evening.
They’ll be followed the next morning by beloved kids favourite and two-time ARIA Award-winning children’s entertainer Emma Memma, who is back by popular demand for the fourth consecutive year to play a 10am Lil’ Twilight show.
Playing on the evening of Saturday February 6 are five-piece Yolŋu surf rock band King Stingray whose blend of raucous rock’n’roll and the ancient Indigenous tradition of manikay (song/songlines) has seen their momentum become unstoppable.
Kicking off week two on Thursday February 11 with their high energy show of indie-folk sounds are The Dreggs, followed by one of Twilight at Taronga's long-standing favourites, James Morrison, who returns with his Big Band show on Friday February 12.
Expect a big crowd on Saturday February 13 when the multiple ARIA Award-winning powerhouse Jessica Mauboy performs with her signature sound that blends R&B, pop, funk, soul and hip hop, with dance.
The Rolling Stones Revue starring Aussie rock royalty Adalita, Phil Jamieson, Tex Perkins and Tim Rogers is on Friday February 19 celebrating the seminal ‘Let It Bleed’ album from one of the greatest rock ’n roll bands of all time, The Rolling Stones.
Saturday February 20 sees the return of another annual favourite, the ABBA endorsed tribute show by Björn Again.
We welcome back the folk-infused and feel-good sounds of The Waifs on Thursday February 25, ahead of electro-pop juggernauts The Jungle Giants on Friday February 26.
Classic Hits Live brings together five of Australia's most iconic acts of the '80s and '90s – Dragon, GANGgajang, Eurogliders, Taxiride ft. Jason Singh and The Chantoozies for three huge hours of non-stop hits, nostalgia and memories on Saturday February 27.
Wrapping up the series on Saturday March 6 is one of Australia’s most beloved and successful singer-songwriters Pete Murray, who will perform his classic ‘Feeler’ and ‘See The Sun’ albums in full featuring the hits that soundtracked a generation.
Celebrating 30 years is a milestone to be celebrated with further announcements to come.
